Geocache Description:

Wellington has a number of scenic side and back roads. This regular sized geocache highlights one of them.

This is one in a series of geocaches highlighting the beautiful landscapes surrounding Wellington. Remember to always take care when driving off the main road, especially right beside the creek. You can park on the side of hte main road and walk a couple of meters to this one, or go explore the track further on like I did.

Coming in from the West I couldn't help but notice the large open face of dark rock on the side of the creek here and had to pull over to check it out. Okay, so I couldn't really check it out looking from above it, but maybe I'll explore the area more next visit before the sun sets. Please correct me if I am wrong, but isn't that basalt, like as in volcano remains? I'm still trying to get my head around basalt.
