It is the height of summer 2018, and geocachers worldwide are on the hunt for Hidden Creatures. Local cachers are in luck as Ithaca has many magical creatures lurking within our town's borders. Perhaps this is not surprising given that the poem 'Puff the Magic Dragon' was written here by Leonard Lipton as 19-year old Cornell student. Also, Cornell's College of Architecture, Art, and Planning's Dragon Day Parade is one of the university's biggest celebrations and has grown to include a Phoenix and a Unicorn.
With this multi-cache you will visit several of Ithaca's best Hidden Creatures, and along the way you may even cross paths with Old Greeny, Ithaca's own Cayuga Lake Monster.
STAGE 1. At the posted coordinates, whether you visit in person or virtually, note how many fangs the long-orange-haired, friendly-looking creature has (A), how many tree trunks there are (B), how many claws the striped sweater-wearer has on his hands (C), and how many pointed stars appear below the moon (D). Plug these answers into the following: N 42° 26.0AB W 076° 29.6CD which is your STAGE 2.
STAGE 2. At Stage 2 you are looking for a physical set of coordinates which will take you to Stage 3/Finale.
STAGE 3/FINALE. Cache is small and magnetic. Original swag consists of a variety of mini Creatures and a Guardian Angel TB.
