This cache is based on similar caches that I have seen in Liverpool (GC529GF) and also in Birmingham (GC529GF). I really enjoyed completing these two caches, so thought that I would bring the idea to my local city of Chester.
This cache will take you up Eastgate Street, from the junction with Frodsham Street to Chester Cross, only a short distance. Chester is famous for being one of the UK’s best examples of a Roman city but, as you will see when completing this cache, there are many examples of buildings from other historical periods, just on this short stretch of the city. Whilst East Gate was previously the eastern entrance to the Roman fortress of Deva Victrix, today it is a haven for shoppers and tourists, who wish to bag a bargain or take a photo of what is the second most photographed clock in England, second only to Big Ben. Why not escape from the stresses of retail ‘therapy’ and take a look around you, admiring the history around you that so many miss?
The below photos have all been taken between the given co-ordinates at the top of the page and Chester Cross, and when ordered correctly, they will give you the co-ordinates for the final cache, which is a short walk away but still within the city walls. Your task is to walk along Eastgate Street, and place the images in the order that you see them. If done successfully, the numbers in each image will read the correct co-ordinates. There is a GeoChecker so that you can check your figures!

The items in the photos are located on both sides of the street, and at varying levels, so you will need to keep your eyes carefully peeled! The majority of objects will be seen in the same direction as you are walking, but for two of the images, you may need to look slightly behind you. Good luck!
