Welcome to our 8th year of working with the Albany Visitors Association to bring you the annual Albany Coin Challenge. Hopefully the 2018 Albany Challenge VIII will be better than ever. This year, we’re adding a new series of Albany locations, homes from our historic homes districts. Plans are underway to make this a special addition to our coin challenge.

This year’s event will happen on Saturday, August 25, beginning at 10:00am at Allann Bros warehouse, 1852 Fescue St. SE, Exit 233 going north or south on I-5 (N 44 37.497 W 123 03.645). There is plenty of parking.
As in previous years, a challenge course has been determined and each geocaching household will be issued a challenge passport beginning at 10:00am. The course has been carefully laid out so that you will also have the opportunity to find caches in the area. There have been many new ones placed since our event last year.
Completed passports can be brought to Ciddici’s Pizza, 133 SW 5th Street (N 44 38.066 W 123 06.229) between 3:00 and 6:00pm the day of the event. For those of you that were here last year, we’ve been assured that the air conditioning will be in working order 😊😊. Three new air conditioners will provide for your comfort. PLEASE NOTE, THIS IS A ONE DAY EVENT. We have ordered 150 coins again this year so everyone who receives a passport is guaranteed a coin.

Again this year, we plan to give away many very nice door prizes during the 3:00 to 6:00pm coin distribution. These prizes are donated by many of our local businesses and drawings will be held on the half hour.
This is a family event and we encourage you to bring your kids and grandkids. There will be something for all ages.
Our coin was again created by Jessica Dilbone and features a design that includes Mary’s Peak, the Willamette and Calapooia Rivers through Albany and the tree from the Oregon License plate. Another, ‘one-of-a-kind’ coin that’s a ‘must have.’

ALSO, don't miss the 2018 Albany Pre-Challenge Meet & Greet VIII (GC7TFBH) the day before from 5-7 at the Albany Mennonite Church (N 44 39.558 W 123 03.536).
