We hope you will enjoy exploring the beauty of the West Rand, Gauteng! __________________________________________________________________________________ PLEASE NOTE THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE LISTED CO-ORDINATES. IN ORDER TO FIND THE FINAL COORDINATES YOU MUST SOLVE THE FOLLOWING PUZZLE FROM THE GIVEN INFORMATION. This is a story about our brief geocaching history. By our I mean mostly Alex and I, but also includes my wife and daughter from time to time. Alex is my son (who is now 6 years old). We started geocaching when he was 4 years old. We started geocaching on 23 July 2016. By the time this geocache goes live we would have been geocaching for two full years and have collected over 400 caches. In our first year of caching we collected 200 caches. In our second year we collected 202 geocaches. Our first logged cache was called the "Lover of Horses", approximately 900m from our house. The closest geocache to our house was logged soon afterwards is called "Wayne (squared)", its about 440m from our house. The cache we logged furtherest from home is called Windmill Beach in Simonstown (Western Cape) on 6 July 2018. It's about 1280km from our house. Our 100th cache was called "Welcome Team Ginger" and it was logged on 17 December 2016. Our 200th cache was called "Walter's Protea Rest" and it was logged on 23 July 2017 - exactly 1 year after our first log. Our 300th cache was called "Accordion" and it was logged on 31 March 2018. Our 400th cache is called "Six-Eyed Sand Spider" and we found it on 15 July 2018. In 2016 we collected 111 caches (or in just over 5 months). We have found most of our caches in Gauteng, but have found 41 caches in the Western Cape. We have hidden 7 caches (excluding the 6 in the Black Eagle Art and have archived 1) There are 6 active caches excluding this series. To calculate the final coordinates use the information above to complete the coordinates: S 25 59. ABC and E 027 38.DEF A = The number of eyes of the spider mentioned in our 400th cache. B = Approximately how many hundred metres is "Lover of Horses from our House". C = The second digit of the number of caches we have found in the Western Cape and add to that the day in July when we found the cache furthest from our house. D = How many ACTIVE caches do we have? That will give you a double digit number. Add the two digits of that number together to get D. E = The age at which Alex was when we started Geocaching subtract 1 from that number. F = The number of letters in the name of our 300th cache. Geocache container: Do not try to remove the container. Open it up and take out the log sheet and return as found. You might need a tool to extract the log sheet.
