PLEASE NOTE THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE LISTED COORDINATES. YOU NEED TO USE THE INFORMATION BELOW TO CALCULATE THE FINAL COORDINATES. Geocaching in South Africa (Source: https://www.geocachingsa.com/index.php/geocaching-stuff/sa-geocaching-info/17-geocaching-history-in-south-africa - 13 July 2018) - I have added my own info in between to compile the puzzle. The first cache in South Africa was hidden by team "GPSFrodo" on 14 January 2001. It was called GCZA01. This cache was only ever found once by team "Jors. It was the 163rd placed cache world wide. It's GC code is GC163. Many years later team "Jors" placed a cache to commemorate the first cache in South Africa, very close to the spot of the very first cache in S.A. It's original name was GCZA01.2. It's new code is GC1RNAY The second cache hidden in South Africa is called Sentinal View overlooking Hout Bay in the Western Cape. It is the oldest geocache in South Africa (it's still active) and has the original log book in it. It was hidden on 18 January 2001 by Prof. Charles Merry. It's GC code is is GC185 - would that make it the 185 cache hidden in the world? It was found for the first time on 3 February 2001. In 2001 - 72 caches were hidden in South Africa - planted mostly by Peter Scholtz and Chris Smith. In 2002 - 85 were added. By the end of 2003 there were 250 caches hidden in South Africa. At the beginning of 2005 - 343 geocaches could be found in South Africa - and it is in this year that things really took off, because by the end of the year 703 caches could be found in South Africa. This is some research I have done on caches in South Africa The most Northern cache is in Limpopo province it is a Traditional Cache called "Mapungubwe - Cinnamon Rock Bunting" GC15MHT. It's co-ordinates are S 22 11,051 and E 029 24.508. It was placed by Pipit Patrol. The most Eastern cache is in Kwa-Zulu Natal Province. It's an Earth Cache called "Kosi Bay - GC4VX40, placed by iPajero. It's co-ordinates are S 26 53,680 and E 032 52.582. The most Southern cache is in the Western Cape Province. It's an Earth Cache called 2 Oceans (where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans actually meet) placed by Little Clan. Its GC code is GC1H9WR. It can be found at S 34 49,988 and E 020 0,000. The most Western Cache is in the Northern Cape Province. It's on the Orange River (which forms the border between South Africa and Namibia). It's an Earth Cache called Gems of the West Coast - GC4J6P0 (zero on the end). It was placed by Pipit Patrol. It's coordinates are S 28 38,643 E 016 29,032. Using the above information, solve the final co-ordinates. SOUTH: AB (degrees) C (minutes), DEF(seconds) EAST: 0GH (degrees) I J (minutes), KLM (seconds). AB = is the same degrees at the southern coordinates of the Eastern Most Cache in South Africa. C = same minutes in the eastern coordinates of the Southern Most Cache in South Africa. D = The first digit of the number of caches that could be found at the end of 2005 in South Africa. E = Which month of 2001 were the first caches in South Africa placed. F = On which day of February in 2001 was the oldest cache in South Africa first found? G = The number of Oceans that meet at the Southern Most Cache in South Africa. H = The only number from 0 to 9 that DOES NOT appear in any of the co-ordinates of the Most Northern, Eastern, Southern and Western Caches in South Africa (mentioned above) I = Using the GC code of the oldest active cache in South Africa: subtract the last digit in the number from the second digit in the number to give you an answer. Add the first digit of the GC code to your answer to get I. J = The number of times the first ever cache in South Africa was found. K = The digit that appears the most in the eastern coordinates of the Southern Most Cache in South Africa. L = The first digit of the number of caches that were hidden in 2001 in South Africa. M = Doing a basic subtraction of the two number... how many days apart are there between the placing of the first cache and the placing of the oldest cache in South Africa. Multiply that number by 2 to get M. Geocache container: once opened and signed, please line up the numbers on each side to close it. Please exercise a lot of stealth as there are security guards across the road. Use your car as a shield from their view.
