This is a radio control, 6 channel, 2-Meter electric powered sailplane. This sailplane is controlled by the electric motor, rudder, elevator, ailerons and flaps with airbrakes.

This sailplane or glider needs a big area to fly. It does have a quiet electric motor to help it get airborne and get some altitude where you then shut off the motor and glide on thermals and wind currents. A sports type field also works best.

Ka'ena Point State Park

This is a nice big shoreline park. You need a permit and a 4wheel drive vehicle  to drive further in or you can park in the lot and hike in. From the early 2000's i would come here to fish, swim, hike, later geocache and sometimes to fly my gliders along the mountain sides and catch the updrafts from the trade winds. Sometimes i could glide for a hour. There are recent changes to the park, the permit decal, large gate and the prohibition of drones. This also now includes anything manmade that flies.
