This is one in a series of three caches hidden as a tribute to one of the first European (Dutch) families to settle in the Hoosick/Petersburgh/Berlin area, the Brimmers.
This cache has been named in honor of the eldest son of settler Johannes George Brimmer; Jeremiah was killed in an event that promted the road to be named "Indian Massacre Road."

Please note that the cache is not hidden near the historical marker, because we found what appeared to be Wild Parsnip growing all around the sign (including at the support poles) and did not want to be responsible for someone's injury. To find the cache, you will need to travel further Southeast on County Route 96; there is a pull-off very close to the cache.
