Geocache Description:

The YM18 series is a set of 42 puzzle caches which have been put out for your enjoyment and amusement both before and during your visit to the 10th Anniversary UK Mega. The puzzles are generally easy and have been inspired greatly by the puzzle caches I have had the pleasure to solve over my years of caching. There are a few twists on old favourites and a few new things thrown in there, so hopefully you should not charge through all of them in a few minutes, nor be up for weeks tearing your hair out.

!!BOO!!

The cache pages have been kept intentionally fairly sparse. In the description, or gallery, you will be presented with everything you need to solve the puzzle. The only other thing you should expect to see is a checker to confirm your answers and a flag counter for my own curiosity. The title will offer an often cryptic clue to the theme of the puzzle. The hint will relate to the actual hide and will be fairly explicit.

!!MADE YOU LOOK!!

Please feel free to solve as part of a group and give hints to fellow cachers, but please resist the temptation to just ask for, or give out the coordinates without so much as opening the cache page. You never know, something in here may help you finally crack that nasty close to home cache that has been bugging you for years. I will happily answer queries when I get them, but please do be patient. There is a good chance that my inbox will explode once this series goes live, and I do still have to do all my usual real life stuff, like going to work 5 days a week.

The caches are generally placed on quiet country roads, although there is the odd short section of slightly faster A-road, and the odd crossing over a major road. All caches have a place in which at least one car, but generally a few cars, can pull off of the road. The route passes through a couple of sleepy North Yorkshire villages, so please avoid the temptation to tear around at a million miles an hour and upset the locals by parking irresponsibly. The series has been designed as a drive by series, but should be achievable by bike, or maybe even on foot. Car sharing might be a nice way to reduce traffic and get to know your fellow caches during mega week. I’d also advise tackling the series in numerical order, as most of the pull-ins are on the left when traveling in that direction, and if everyone is traveling in the same direction, there is less need to pass on the narrower lanes. If there is nowhere safe to pull in at the time, keep on driving. You can always park up further along and walk back, do another lap, or even come back another day when it’s a bit quieter.

!!NOT HERE!!

Due to the nature of this series, many of the caches are micros. This will not be to everyone's taste, but there will be plenty of scenic walking series coming out for mega week with lots of sizable hides and clever containers, so do not fret, there will be something for everyone.

!!UP A BIT!!

I think that should be everything you need to know, so I hope you enjoy the puzzles and the caches. As always I look forward to reading your logs.

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.
