The walk from Ayr Town centre to the old Racecourse could take you down Midton Road. This area was once known as the Mid Sands, and the road was known as Midsands Road. In September 1845 Ayr Town Council renamed it Midton Road possibly to make it sound more attractive to those looking to build property there. Halfway down there is a bend in the road which catches out a fair few drivers, despite traffic calming measures. Please be careful parking near the cache.
