Geocache Description:

Cache Is Not At The Posted Coordinates

Mr. Toot is the mascot not only of the North Iowa Band Festival, but also for Mason City as a whole.  His image has appeared on everything from T-Shirts to business cards to city light poles. Now his image also appears on the geocaching map just south of Mason City Iowa.  Each of these puzzles will include a fact or story in theme with the art series.  Some may also include a question or two for you to answer correctly to find the coordinates.

Meredith Willson

We have already learned that Meredith Willson, was an American composer and playwright, best known for writing the book, music, and lyrics for the hit Broadway musical The Music Man. He wrote three other Broadway musicals, composed symphonies and popular songs, and his film scores were twice nominated for Academy Awards.

Willson's Symphony No. 2 "The Missions of California" (1940) was inspired by Fray Junipero Serra and the various missions established along El Camino Real. There are four movements: I. Junipero Serra II. San Juan Bautista III. San Juan Capistrano IV. El Camino Real
