Geocache Description:

Spirit Quest - Greenwood Cemetery.

The cache is located inside the cemetery in a area that is well away from any known graves. It should be fairly easy find especially with the use of the hint. Though this cemetery has seen very little use since 1923, as with any cemetery cache please be respectful of the grounds, and any possible visitors or mourners that might not understand what we are doing. Limit your search to daylight hours only please.

Finding the Cemetery:  Do not park on the shoulder of westside road and bushwhack in.  Turn down the gravel road (there is a waypoint coordinate for the road), once you are on that gravel road, about half way across the flat land there will be a small faint road to the left, just inside of the tree line is the cemetery sign.  Please park next to the sign and walk to the cache.  Do not attempt to drive to drive in to far.  There is a fair bit of underbrush and it is hard to see what is in it, there are big depressions, and still remaining stones.  Once you start walking over to the cache you'll understand.

Cemetery information:  This cemetery started as the burial grounds for the upper kittatas county area and was primarily active from 1903 to 1923, when Laurel Hill became the main cemetery.  When Greenwood closed, a lot of the burials, but not all were moved to Laurel Hill.  The five acre lot today is owned by the city of Cle Elum, and is periodically maintained by volunteers.  There was attempt in the late 1990's to clean it up and use Greenwood again, but it did not work out.  Today it is now unknown how many reside within the cemetery, but there are a few headstones remaining.  And a few years ago volunteers installed the sign that you will be parking next to.

Due to the type of hide I suspect that it will be difficult if not impossible to find once it is under snow.  If there is much more than an a few inches on the ground it's probably best to leave this one until better weather.    Limit you search to daylight hours only please.

Congratulations goes to _________ for first to Find!!!!!
