Forest Road 273 goes way out to the end of the road. This is in the Green Mountain National Forest and you can drive out here (in a higher than low-clearance vehicle) and turn around. If the map says you can get there from Bennington or Readsboro, don't believe it. You can only drive in this road from City Stream Road near the top of the hill on Route 9 in Woodford.
The road is not plowed all the way in winter. Snowmobiling is allowed. Or you could cross country ski or snowshoe. Be advised that there is no parking at the beginning of this road. Snowmobile parking and trail access can be found eastward on Route 9 and cross country ski parking and trail access can be found at the cross country ski area nearby on Route 9.

I placed this cache last year and then never got around to verifying that geocaching was permitted in this area of the Green Mountain National Forest. After a long winter I checked the cache and I was able to verify that there are no restrictions on geocaching in this area of the GMNF.
