FRC-AN, Treasures: Cache to Cub Scouts Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

OReviewer: As there's been no cache to find for a long time or has had no owner response for at least 30 days, I'm archiving it to keep it from showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Please note that if geocaches are archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance, they are not eligible for unarchival.

Geocache Description:

Five Rivers Council Patch

This Boy Scouts of America (BSA) Geoscouting cache is the first of what will be 5 caches for Five Rivers Council: "Treasures of Scouting" series, in Andaste District. Its full name is "Five Rivers Council, Andaste District, Treasures of Scouting: Cache to Cub Scouts".

The cache is a (Regular) sized plastic box filled with Boy Scout goodies. It is at Towanda Borough Memorial Park.

For 100+ years, the Boy Scouts of America has helped youth become more than they ever thought possible. And we’ll continue that journey into the next century.

Cache to Cub Scouts: The Cub Scout program in the US began in 1930 and currently is open to BOYS & GIRLS in Kindergarten through 5th grades. We offer fun and challenging experiences that inspire confidence and teach important values. Cub Scout geocaching is an important addition to the Scout program. This cache is designed with the Cub Scout and other young children in mind. Please leave appropriate toys and ―swag for young people of all programs.

Beginning in 2018, girls have the opportunity to join Cub Scout dens, and in 2019, programs for older girls will make it possible to earn the rank of Eagle Scout.

The BSA operates traditional Scouting by chartering local organizations, such as churches, clubs, civic associations, or educational organization, to implement the Scouting program for youth within their communities. Units are led entirely by volunteers appointed by the chartering organization, who are supported by local councils using both paid professional Scouters and volunteers.

In addition to Cache to Cub Scouts, we will be hiding four other caches highlighting Scouting programs. Find all five! Search "FRC-AN, Treasures" on geocaching.com. There is a Code Word/Phrase in each cache - once you have all 5 Code Words and enter them on the Treasures of Scouting tracking sheet here: https://goo.gl/9p8JsL

You will be entered in a random bi-monthly drawing for SWAG including things like a unactivated geocoin and geo patches) while supplies last.

Five Rivers Council (Andaste District):
Serving Scouts in the Southern tier of New York and the Northern tier of Pennsylvania.
