Welcome to the Super 70’s Series. The 1970’s was a pop culture decade. From Hippies to Disco and Saturday Night Fever to The Brady Bunch, the Seventies were full of cultural changes that shaped society for years to come. Although pop culture was important, many political outcomes also occurred. The Watergate scandal, the official end of the Vietnam conflict, the oil shortages and the United States Bicentennial all happened during this decade.
In this series, you will take a trip back in time. Learn, or reminisce about the music, movies and events that defined a decade and shaped the future. This cache is just one of several that will test your knowledge of a very tumultuous decade.
A few things you need to be aware of with AR caches.
- Please download the Metaverse App (for iOS or Android) to be able to get the coordinates for the final location. You must create an account.
- Playing requires a smart phone with sufficient battery life, so if you plan on doing more than one in this series, plan accordingly. Phone reception in this area is good. That said, not all carriers have great service in Northern Arizona so that is beyond my control.
- Once you have the app installed, go to the posted coordinates and click on Super 70's Series Trivia. There are two experiences in each group. Only one will open at a time and each experience requires you to be within 100’ of the posted coordinates.
- When viewing the specific experience, pay attention to details as they may benefit you later on. And as always have a pen handy.
This is a desert cache and many cachers often fail read the attributes. That means you will potentially encounter thorny bushes and possibly dangerous creatures (snakes, scorpions, spiders, etc.). So long sleeves and gloves are recommended for this series. So no whining in your posts! This trail is an old jeep trail with minimal elevation gains. You will have to go a little off the trail to find the cache (so watch your step).
