If you had to take the turnoff marked as Elandsjagt you will pass the Mpofu Dam, previously known as the Elandsjagt Dam. The dam was built in 1983 and its primary purpose is to serve for municipal and industrial use. It is a combined rock-fill/earth-fill type dam located on the Krom River.
