Located in a park in the center of Patten. The park is dedicated to the memory of Patten Academy which stood on these grounds from the late 1800's till 1967 when it was destroyed by fire after the local high schools merged under the Maine SAD act. Definitely watch out for Muggles in your search!
This is a very busy place at times! Don't give away the location. Please be as stealthy as possible. Be decrete and the treasure will be yours. No room for trades, just sign the log. Taking it back to your vehicle to sign may be best. Probably a park N grab for many.
The cache container is a small, heavy duty, plastic bag, covered with electrical tape and velcro added to hold it in place. Please open the bag with care - there is another small bag inside with the log. Sign, and replace - making sure you seal both bags and that the Velcro resticks - push it back on good, please. Keep that in mind when looking for the cache. It is hidden on the back side of limited space - put your hand in the right place and you will feel it.
Stop and take a look around the park. The bell is all that is left of Patten Academy. The location of the cache will give you all this history of this Academy too.
