Geocache Description:

Please place back exactly as found so it isn't visible from a distance. This is a popular cache and therefore this mistake is made often.

The geocache is not a rat trap.

It cost $800,000, and most people don't know what it is supposed to be. If you have time, take the elevator in nearby Eastman Hall to one of the upper floors and let us know what you think it is! At RIT, differing perspectives often lead us to the best solutions.

The Sentinel, built by Albert Paley for RIT in 2003, is the largest sculpture on any American university campus. Weighing in at 110 tons, this monumental structure dominates the RIT skyline. As Paley's most ambitious commission to date, he referred "to the technological dimension of the Institute and the dYNAMIC transformative nature of the educational process" as his inspiration (from RITpedia).

This geocache was featured on RIT's Behind the Bricks blog on June 4th, 2019 (no longer a spoiler as the container has changed).

Stealth is required. RIT is an open campus and visitors are able to park in any designated visitor space or general parking space not restricted by signs for other users. For more details on parking, see here.
