FOIOASE - arbori care îşi pierd frunzele în anotimpul rece, cand funcţia de fotosinteză încetează. Fac parte din Familia Angiosperme, deoarece au sămânţa învelită într-un fruct (angio = inveliş; sperme = sămânţa); sunt plantele dominante pe glob în zilele noastre.
