Posta la confine tra l’agro di Vico del Gargano e quello di Peschici, la Torre di Monte Pucci domina la sottostante piana di Calenella, quella di Padula con il porto e il promontorio su cui si erge in centro urbano di Peschici.
L’edificio fortificato, ben visibile percorrendo la costiera che collega Peschici con S. Menaio e Rodi Garganico, si leva a picco sul mare, in posizione dominante e panoramica. La torre ha base quadrangolare e presentano la forma di tronchi di piramide. Il varco di accesso, come di consueto rivolto verso monte, è soprelevato rispetto al piano di campagna: in origine raggiungibile con scala retraibile, presenta oggi una poco indicata scala di marmo bianco che accede alla "Cantina il Baccanale" ricavata nel vano voltato della torre.
Nelle pareti laterali si aprono le feritoie. La torre, ha perso l’originario coronamento e come le altre della zona presenta dimensioni assai ridotte che ne attestano la sola funzione di avvistamento (non difensiva). La torre è completa nei due piani.
Una delle caratteristiche della Torre di Monte Pucci, è di essere ubicata su un tratto di costa affacciato direttamente verso nord, per cui è possibile in estate vedere sorgere e tramontare il sole sullo stesso mare.
La Toore presenta nache un notevole valore panoramico: in lontananza, nelle giornate terse si possono scorgere le Tremiti e le isole della Dalmazia. Ad oriente si gode un magnifico panorama sull’abitato di Peschici e ad ovest si può ammirare in lontananza l’abitato di Rodi Garganico preceduto dal lungo arenile di San Menaio.
In prossimità della torre sono situati tre trabucchi da pesca. Intorno agli anni Sessanta, la Torre di Montepucci divenne, per qualche anno, la residenza dell’artista Manlio Guberti che vi aprì un ospitale Club della Tavolozza. Pittore, incisore e poeta, Guberti aveva studiato musica e giurisprudenza e si era diplomato all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma. Partecipò alla Biennale di Venezia e ad oltre 50 esposizioni personali in Italia e nel mondo.
La cache si trova proprio nell'area di sosta, non fatemi distrarre da panorama se ci riuscite! Si tratta di un piccolo contenitore nero, calamitato....nascosto li dove il ferro abbonda.... Bisogna solo fare attenzione a risistemare il log esattamente come lo avete trovato. IMPORTANTISSIMO! PORTATE LA PENNA DA CASA

The boundary between the countryside of Vico del Gargano and that of Peschici, the Tower of Monte Pucci dominates the underlying plain of Calenella, that of Padula with the port and the promontory on which stands in the urban center of Peschici.
The fortified building, clearly visible along the coast that connects Peschici with S. Menaio and Rodi Garganico, rises to the sea, in a dominant and panoramic position. The tower has a quadrangular base and presents the shape of pyramid trunks. The access gate, as usual facing upstream, is raised above the country level: originally accessible with a retractable staircase, today presents a slightly indicated white marble staircase that accesses the "Cantina il Baccanale" obtained in the vaulted room of the tower .
The slits open in the side walls. The tower has lost its original crowning and, like the others in the area, has very small dimensions that attest to its only (non-defensive) sighting function. The tower is complete in the two floors.
One of the characteristics of the Torre di Monte Pucci, is to be located on a stretch of coast facing directly north, so it is possible in the summer to see rise and set the sun on the same sea.
La Toore presents a noteworthy panoramic value: in the distance, on clear days you can see the Tremiti and the Dalmatian islands. To the east you can enjoy a magnificent view of the village of Peschici and to the west you can admire the village of Rodi Garganico in the distance, preceded by the long beach of San Menaio.
Near the tower there are three fishing trabucchi. Around the sixties, the Tower of Montepucci became, for a few years, the residence of the artist Manlio Guberti who opened a hospitable Club of the Palette. Painter, engraver and poet, Guberti had studied music and jurisprudence and had graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. He participated in the Venice Biennale and over 50 solo exhibitions in Italy and around the world.
The cache is located right in the parking area, do not get distracted by the view if you can! It is a small black container, magnetized .... hidden there where the iron abounds .... You just have to pay attention to rearrange the log exactly as you found it. VERY IMPORTANT! BRING YOUR PEN!
