The Series
This is a circular series of 42 caches set in a triangular pattern with Helman Tor at its apex and the villages of Lanlivery and Luxulyan at its base corners.
See Helman Triangle #1 for parking coordinates
HELMAN TOR

LUXULYAN LANLIVERY
The series is about 7.5 miles in length and involves walking on rural footpaths and narrow lanes. The footpaths are generally unsuitable for pushchairs and buggies.
The footpaths can get very wet and muddy in the winter and after rain so wear appropriate footwear. The lanes are generally quiet but agricultural and local traffic use them regularly so keep an eye on geokids and geohounds especially at school times..
At various places throughout the walk you will be able to enjoy panoramic views of mid-Cornwall - the two sides of the triangle are branches of the Saints Way which is walking route from Padstow to Fowey.
Part of the route is alongside Breney Common which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and is a highly prized Nature Reserve which is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna.
The villages of Lanlivery and Luxulyan both have Church Micros and Holy Well Caches that you can also visit on your walk. Parking is available at Helman Tor, Lanlivery, Luxulyan and near Gunwen Church - please see provided coordinates at Helman Triangle #1.
It is recommended that you walk the series in numerical order as this is the less demanding way around in terms of hills to be walked up. All directions given are assuming that you are traveling in numerical order. Parts of the series can be done as caches and dashes but the series is recommended as a pleasant day walk.
The Cache
Walk on up the field from #14 and go over the stone stile at the top.
Carry on down the concrete farm road straight ahead
At the bottom, at the metal gate into the farm buildings, the footpath is marked on your right over a stone stile and through the electric fence using the plastic handle hook to go through. REPLACE THE HOOK HANDLE EXACTLY AS YOU FOUND IT.
Go up the edge of this field keeping the hedge on your right
There may be livestock in this field so keep dogs on leads please.
Take the opportunity for a breather and enjoy the panoramic views from here with the fine church tower in the foreground
The footpath goes through another electric fence hooked section and over a stile..
The cache is in front of you in the roots of the tree and the wall just to your right.
On your left is an old Cornish Cross top
The fence will only be active if there are animals in the fields
Go through another electric fence hooked opening .
You are now in an open field.
Please tuck the cache back out of sight after signing the log.
