A straightforward offset-cache set around Luxulyan Church.
The cache is not located within the church grounds, so please don't search there.


What to do
The headline co-ordinates are for a memorial bench for Gwen Burdon and Marjorie Tregonning just inside the grounds of the Churchyard.

There are 4 dates on the plaque on the bench – Assume them to be ABCC - ACCD and ACAE - ACCF

About the Church
Luxulyan Parish Church is dedicated to Saint Julitta and her son Cyriacus. According to legend, they were persecuted and executed in gruesome fashion for being Christian in Tarsus (south-central Turkey) in AD304. It has been suggested that the church was founded by Saint Sulian - one of the party of Welsh missionary monks who accompanied St Sampson to Brittany in the sixth century. The name Luxulyan is thought to have been derived from Saint Sulian’s name. The unusual little tower at the top of the main church tower was supposedly the place where the Blackmoor Stannary Tin Court, kept its records. The large Celtic Cross near the headline coordinates is the grave of Silvanus Trevail. One of Luxulyan’s famous sons, Silvanus Trevail was a superb architect and rose to become Mayor of Truro and, nationally, President of the architects' professional body, the Society of Architects. However, suffering from depression, he tragically committed suicide in a train lavatory as it entered Brownqueen Tunnel a short distance from Bodmin Road railway station on 7th November 1903.
