ST PETER, EAST BRIDGFORD
St Peter, East Bridgford is a Grade I listed building, achieving the status on 1 December 1965. Also Grade II listed are a group of three headstones to the Gaunt family, located to the south of the chancel, achieving the status on 14 November 1986.
The building originally dates from C11th with additional work taking place in C14th, C15th, C16th, C18th and C19th. The church was restored in 1671 and 1686. The tower was rebuilt in 1778 by Francis Moore. The chancel windows were renenwed in 1862. The organ chamber and lady chapel were also rebuilt in 1862. The building was then further restored in 1901, 1903 and 1914 by C. E. Ponting.
The floor plan of the building is a west tower, nave, north and south aisles, organ chamber, Lady Chapel, chancel and south porch.
The clock in the second stage of the tower is dated 1887.
The church door is C19th with the latch dated 1662.
All the stained window glass dates from C20th.
The font, in the Gothic style has a panelled octagonal stem with a splayed bowl with strapwork. It dates from 1662.
The panelled oak pulpit dates to 1778 with a restoration in 1907.
St Peter has six bells dating 1631, 1649, 1778, 1779 and two C19th.
There are 21 tablets hanging on the walls inside the church dating from 1620 to nine in the C19th.

EDIT - 19 OCT 2018 - THIS WAS MY LAST CHURCH MICRO FOR THREE MONTHS FROM JULY TO OCTOBER 2018. FARNDON CHURCH MICRO WAS THEN ARCHIVED AND I REPLACED IT BECOMING CHURCH MICRO 117 FOR ME AND STARTING ME OFF PLACING AGAIN!
