The Sanctuary at Roche Caiman wetland
Créé sur le site de terres récupérées, le Sanctuaire de Roche Caïman est un habitat humide restauré. C'est l'un des rares endroits à Victoria où les gens peuvent profiter des qualités réparatrices de la nature. Nous avons développé la zone comme un parc pour les gens. En 2012, le Sanctuaire est devenu le premier parc en Afrique à rejoindre le réseau Healthy Parks Healthy People. C'est un réseau international qui travaille à reconnaître la contribution de la nature à notre bien-être. En 2011, le Sanctuaire s'est vu décerner le World Leisure International Innovation Prize.

Programme de santé vert - notre programme de santé vert est basé au Sanctuaire. Cela implique un programme hebdomadaire de yoga dirigé par notre professionnel de yoga. Il y a aussi notre espace d'exercice vert, avec des équipements pour la remise en forme.
Mangroves pour l'humanité - découvrez plus sur la mangrove dans notre zone humide de mangrove restaurée. Les mangroves sont des habitats côtiers essentiels pour la construction de la résistance naturelle aux changements climatiques. Notre site de démonstration explique comment la mangrove fonctionne et comment restaurer cet habitat essentiel peut être fait.
Sentier de la Nature - tisser à travers le Sanctuaire, un court sentier facile à suivre qui mène à une cachette d'oiseau surplombant une grande piscine humide. En chemin, il y a la possibilité de voir une gamme d'animaux sauvages qui habite le site.
Entrée 25 roupies cela permet d'aider l'association qui s'occupe également de l'île cousin reserve pour les oiseaux marins.
Created on the site of reclaimed land, the Sanctuary at Roche Caiman is a restored wetland habitat. It is one of the few places in Victoria where people can enjoy the restorative qualities of nature. We have developed the area as a park for people and in 2012 the Sanctuary became the first park in Africa to join the Healthy Parks Healthy People network. This is an international network which works to recognise the contribution of nature to our wellbeing. In 2011 the Sanctuary was awarded the World Leisure International Innovation Prize.
As well as offering a natural retreat, the following activities are also available at the Sanctuary:
Green health programme – our successful green health programme is based at the Sanctuary. This involves a weekly programme of yoga led by our trained yoga professional. There is also our green exercise area, with equipment for self-led fitness and stamina building.
Mangroves for mankind – discover more about mangrove at our restored mangrove wetland. Mangroves are essential coastal habitats for building natural resistance to climate change. Our demonstration site explains how mangrove works and how restoring this essential habitat can be done.
Nature Trail - weaving through the Sanctuary is a short easy to follow nature trail that leads to a bird hide overlooking a large wetland pool. Along the way there is opportunity to see a range of wildlife which inhabits the site.
Entry 25 rupees this helps to the association that also deals with cousin island reserve for seabirds.
