Welcome to Lightning Ridge - the home of the famous black opal!
We moved to Lightning Ridge about 4 months ago. It's a fascinating town full of interesting people. The population is recorded as about 2500 but it really is unknown as people come & go all the time.
There is lots of things for tourists & visitors to do. The coloured car door tours, the hot artesian bore baths, the pubs in the scrub tour are only a few of the many things on offer.
This is a quick park & grab cache at the entrance road into Lightning Ridge. It may be a bit tricky in wet weather but should still be doable, & please wear shoes - the "cat heads" are deadly!
We decided to make this a TB Hotel as we had a few TBs and coins which we have had way too long! Please take as many TBs as you want to but please, PLEASE make sure there is ALWAYS at least 1 TB in the cache at all times. Thanks & happy caching!
