Pahi Wharf can be found on one of the Northern Arms of the Kaipara Harbour .....And in days gone by this area played a major role in the economy and history of the area .
These days you can go on cruises beginning from Helensville , Port Albert or Pahi ....And you can learn about the importance of the waterways back in the day .
You can access this cache by driving down Pahi Rd from Paparoa .down though a narrow finger of land bordered by mangroves ....or maybe even from one of the Cruises !
( I am interested in the area mainly because of family history . )
There is the Pahi Beach Holiday Park you can stay at if you want to chill out for a few days ! I was here in January and attended the annual Pahi Regatta in Anniversary Weekend ! It was very busy . I enjoyed watching the bath tub race ! I also got to ride on a barge over to Whakapirau Wharf .
Whereas when I came here this week it was totally peaceful with no one around!
Easy park n grab...Possibly well lit at night too . Close to but not in the stone thing with plaque .
