Just south of the covered bridge, at the confluence of the La Pêche River, the Gatineau River swells to create a lovely scenic and recreational space (which I have taken to calling Wakefield Bay). In summer, the water hosts numerous swimmers, paddlers, and boaters. In spring 2018, the village of Wakefield opened a new boardwalk alongside the old rail line through town.

A = Third digit of the year of the North canoe photo (WP1).
B = Fourth digit of the year of the photo of the MacLaren residence (WP2).
C = Digital root* of the year the grist mill was built (WP3).
D = Digital root* of the year MacLaren’s General Store was destroyed by fire (WP3).
E = Fourth digit of the year the covered bridge was built (WP4).
F = Third digit of the year Glen Allen Stewart passed away (WP5).
*The digital root of a number is derived by adding the value of each digit to create a sum. If the sum contains more than one digit, those digits are added together again until a single digit – the digital root – is reached. The digital root of 1967, for example, is 5. (1+9+6+7=23, 2+3=5)
The area of the final location sees a lot of traffic. Please exercise a high level of stealth. To help with your search, the cache is magnetic.

Juste au sud du pont couvert, au confluent de la rivière La Pêche, la rivière Gatineau gonfle pour créer un bel espace scénique et récréatif (que j'ai pris pour appeler la baie Wakefield). En été, l'eau accueille de nombreux nageurs, pagayeurs et plaisanciers. D = La racine numérique* de l'année, le magasin général de MacLaren a été détruit par le feu (WP3).
E = Le quatrième chiffre de l'année le pont couvert a été construit (WP4).
F = Le troisième chiffre de l'année décédé de Glen Allen Stewart (WP5).
*La racine numérique d'un nombre est dérivée en ajoutant la valeur de chaque chiffre pour créer une somme.
