A small cache along the new Mirbat – Shuwaymiyah highway over the Jebel Samhan mountain range.

For those traveling by car between Salalah and points North, a new road has been constructed a few years back. It follows Dhofar’s Eastern coastline, a rugged landscape of the Jebel Samhan mountain range plunging into the Indian Ocean. It runs along the edges of the Jebel Samhan Nature Reserve hosting several endangered species, the Arabian Leopard among them.
The construction of this road over the top of the mountain range has been an engineering marvel providing a tour through a region that has long been inaccessible. Naturally there are several amazing views over the mountains and the blue Indian Ocean beyond them. This cache is hidden near one of them, providing the weary traveler a welcome break searching for the cache and enjoying the breath-taking views.
The cache is a small magnetic container containing a logbook and pencil.
