Geocache Description:

This geocache is located at the Sharon Public Library near a statue of Deborah Sampson. The statue was sculpted by Lu Stubbs and was dedicated on November 11, 1989. The geocache is not located on the statue. Bring your own pen. Be careful of muggles, and good luck!
Deborah Sampson was born on December 17, 1760, in Plympton, Massachusetts. During the Revolutionary War in 1782, she dressed up as a man and joined the Patriot army under the pseudonym of Robert Shurtleff. Despite many close calls, her true identity remained undiscovered throughout many battles. After her true identity was found out in Philidelphia, she was honorably discharged on October 23, 1783. You can visit her grave at Rock Ridge Cemetary in Sharon, only a short drive from the library (see waypoint).
