The Taiwan Railway LCK30 series steam locomotive is the water tank type steam locomotive used in the old Taitung line. It was originally used in Japan and was purchased by the Ministry of Railways of Taiwan.
In 1912, Japan introduced seven steam locomotives from the Orenstein & Koppel company in Germany, which were compiled by the Japan Railways into the ケ200(ケ200－ケ206). It was assembled in the following year and used for the portable line of Hokkaido. However, after the completion of the gauge widening project in 1916, the ケ200 series was completely scrapped in the following year. Among them, ケ204 was purchased by Taitung Sugar Co., Ltd. as scrap iron and continued to be used after the renovation. In 1922, the Ministry of Railways of Taiwan’s Governor’s Office acquired and compiled the locomotive as No. 32. In 1928, the Ministry of Railways purchased a No. 36 imitation locomotive from Japanese vehicles. In the same year, it reorganized the vehicle registration information and compiled 32 and 36 as L30 type (L31, L32). In 1937, the vehicle was reorganized again, and the L30 type was changed to the LC12 type (LC121, LC122). In 1949, the LC12 was accepted by the Taiwan Railway Administration and changed to LCK30 (LCK31, LCK32) and used until the beginning of 1969. When the LDH200 diesel locomotive was fully put into operation, it was discontinued and scrapped. Finally, LCK31 was acquired by Guanglong Enterprise Co., Ltd. and LCK32 was dissolved in 1979. LCK31 has been display to the ground outside the Guanglong Marble Museum with an extra wooden freight wagon now.
