We visited Two towers and felt we just had to add one more along here. You have several choices here to get your cache. You can do the long easy walk. Or the shorter loop. This trail ranges from easy to a narrow track with hidden holes, sharp tall grass and bear poop. We sang bear deterrent songs since we could not see over the grass.
My fitbit read 6 km. as we did the loop from the first parking waypoint. (P0) The trailhead waypoint is here and we went north then went out east after the Two Towers and back along the easier walk south on the dyke. This will be your shortest route., but def. not your easiest.
Parking Waypoint P1 brings you to a trail that is longer and while not as overgrown (right now) ... is still a bit rough.
Parking waypoint P2 has two options. If you take the easier walk along the lake and then head south on the dyke this cache will give you the easiest access to this cache and Two Towers. Then back track to your car. From this parking you can also head east along a rough narrow track that at times had us walking sideways to squeeze between the blackberries. Then join the easier track along the dyke to the cache.
The last option is boating here if you have a kayak or canoe. There is a place to get out of the water very near the cache. Some people fishing had put in very near the P0 parking waypoint but it is not the only option.
The perimeter road is open year-round, the inside trails are closed between March 15 and August 15 as per the sandhill crane sign.
