Geocache Description:

Hoo·ver·ville
ˈho͞ovərˌvil/
noun
  1. a shantytown built by unemployed and destitute people during the Depression of the early 1930s.

One side of my family came to california from Arkansas in the mid 1930's. They actually lived in Hoovervilles while they followed the crops up and down California.

My original thought was that Placerville had a Hooverville but Plazmo corrected that and explained that the Hoover Family just owns the ranch. There is a road and an orchard near where this cache was placed.

The cache is a regular sized 1-gallon food container placed near a generous turn-out opposite the beginning of the Hooverville Road. It was placed in an area that was free of poison oak at the time the cache was placed.
