Cliffhänger's Area Revival
Dieser Cache wurde im Jahr 2004 von speedstar gelegt (Originalversion). Da mir die Idee und die Location sehr gefallen, habe ich mich entschlossen ihn zu reloaden, im Einverständnis mit dem Urheber.
Seit der Erstveröffentlichung haben sich die lokalen Verhältnisse verändert: 2006 wurde der Lärchenturm-Klettersteig (Schwierigkeit C/D) eröffnet und der ÖTK-Klettersteig beim Koschutnikturm (B/C) neu trassiert. Die Ostschlucht am Koschutnikturm ist stark steinschlaggefährdet, die Lärchenschlucht seit 2007 gesperrt.
Bis auf die geänderte Route in umgekehrter Reihenfolge habe ich mich bemüht, das ursprüngliche Listing beizubehalten. Dose, Logbuch und einige Tauschgegenstände sind original aus 2004. Der Rost ist aus nostalgischen Gründen beabsichtigt.
The cache will lead you to the 12 km long area called „Koschuta”. The massif is vertically sloping in Carinthia. In Slovenia the grass is up to the summit.
From the village Zell Pfarre you can use the 3 km toll road to the Koschuta Haus, N46°27.083 E014°23.213, you have to pay 4 Euro.
It will take you about 6 – 8 hours for the 7 km circuit and you'll have height difference of app. 1000 meters. You should have mountain experience to climb small vertical parts. The climbing parts are not difficult, a lot of steel ropes will help you. A head for heights is a matter of course. Climbing helmet and good mountain boots are also required. You need a passport, because you will cross the border to Slovenia. In winter, spring and at the beginning of summer you must have special mountain knowledge. Crampon, pick-axe and rope are necessary - only for specialists!!!
On the trip you will see red white red marks or only red stripes on the rocks. You must always follow small paths. You have to go from the car park to the entry of the fixed rope route to the the great “Lärchenturm”. You'll see the tower from a lot of directions. Do not enter the “Lärchenschlucht” which is nearby! From the "Lärchenberg" summit go along a small path to the summit of the “Koschutnikturm 2136m”.

The cache is hidden somewhere AT ONE OF THE WAYPOINTS. You have to search for a big hole. The entrance of the hole is in Slovenia and the exit is in Carinthia. The cache is not situated in a steep slope and the area is not dangerous. Use the photo for help.
