Point Renard named by D'Entrecasteaux on November 5 1792 after his Surgeon-Major Renard of the vessel “Recherche” marks the eastern most point of Norfolk Bay (to your left) and the beginning of Frederick Henry Bay named by Abel Tasman after the Prince of Orange. This vast body of water was identified as a national drowning blackspot in 2008. From here you can truly appreciate it's size and exposure to our roaring forties weather.
