Geocache Description:

Ray Bramham Gardens, Preston

1890 the Ray Bramhams garden was a quarry of the Clifton Brick Company. After they had finished with the removal of stone the area got a land fill – meanwhile with unusable stones for them. As a result there were hills of stones while everywhere around was flat land. Today the landscape is still formed by the history of it. The terrain is hilly and has a higher level than the area around it. When you walk through the park, you can see some of the old rocks. Also there were after the industrian use and the modification into a parc two lakes and a small creek wich flew into these two lakes. Now youcan see the holes, where the ponds where, the streambed and the spring(where the cache is hidden).

In the last years, there were some modernization measures. Some new plants got there and especially art work got placed there. 2013/14 where some tenders and three stone sculptures were build in the parc. So the parc and the Darebin Arts and entertainment centre(since 1994 there) next to it supplement each other.

Nowadays the Ray Bramham garden is a lovely recreation area in the middle of the every day life. Through the diversity of plants, huge grass surfaces, the stony streambed and their bridges and art/sculptures, the parc is liked by many people around Preston, just to relax or to enjoy the nature. Also for kids is directly across the road a playground.

MY first cache at place where I like to go to relax

Congrat to BastiansQuest FTF We had to hide it a little better at the same location (coordinates) - sometimes we find the cache open visible for all muggles
