The cache is located on the grounds of this very nice rest stop. Even if you don't need the rest it is worth stopping here to see the display of historical items and information. It is a short walk to the cache and a bit steep at the end. And as always be aware of West Texas critters, especially rattlesnakes. There is also a virtual cache at the rest stop.
Enjoy the rolling hills and views of the eastern panhandle. As you travel west from here you will soon rise to the flat land of the LLano Estacado where driving is easy but there is not too much to look at although you can see for miles as well as see the modern version of what you saw inside the rest stop.
UPDATE: 4-28-21 Moving it again to a safer location, (not so steep but be careful), but stealth may be needed as you will be in view of the rest stop. Also, I reduced the size of the container, again, due to muggle/workers. A new fence was also added around the perimeter. updating hint.
