The City of Cloquet recently started implementing it's long range plan for the Parks system. Part of this plan is to increase recreational activities along the St. Louis River to make it more of a recreation destination. This part of the river is a popular spot to kayak, canoe, and fish. There is not a lot of motor boat activity, but there is some. All of these caches were placed by kayak... some may accessible by land off the atv trail, but they may be tough to get to. Winter ice is NEVER safe. After the spring run-off, navigating this part of the river is relatively easy... even I can do it, lol. I believe the campground was going to start to rent kayaks if you do not have your own. As I live in the area, I may also be able to hook you up with one as well.
