JaxParks and Visit Jacksonville are proud to bring you this geocache as part of the Inaugural Jacksonville Geocaching Challenge! In each JGC Geocache, you will find a stamp attached to the log book. Simply stamp your 2018 Jacksonville Geocaching Challenge Passport in the appropriate space as you visit each geocache. When you have collected 25 of the 30 stamps, you will qualify for the coin! This Wherigo is a walk around the outside of the Jacksonville Baseball Grounds. You will have to download the Wherigo cartridge here to complete this cache. It will take less than an hour and you will be asked some easy questions along the way. This Wherigo has seven stages, and you will be able the find the cache at the last stage.
Parking near the Baseball Grounds can be challenging if any events are scheduled at the nearby facilities (TIAA Bank Field, Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena or Daily's Place in addition to the Baseball Grounds).
The Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville was the first project completed under the Better Jacksonville Plan. Construction began in 2002 and the first game was played on April 11, 2003. This is the home of the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, who play in the Class Double-A Southern League. The Jumbo Shrimp are a farm team of the Miami Marlins.
