Gipsy lane is an old footpath that runs from the nearby Linburn road and along the northern edge of Calais Muir woods before finishing on what is now the other side of the M90 motorway. This cache is situated not far from this old right of way that now forms part of the path around the woods.
The cache is larger than a 35mm film pot, but smaller than a small box. There is room only for the log.
