Historic Old St. Patrick’s Cemetery
This is an Illinois spirit Quest cache. Please be respectful of the Cemetery and any guests it may have.
This Cemetery was started in 1846 for the members of the St. Andrew’s Mission church which was located just in front of the Cemetery. That church burned in 1911 and a new church being built downtown Wadsworth was completed in 1912. The new church was named St Patrick’s Church. Many of Newport Township's early settlers are buried here.
Do not approach from the roadway (barbed wire fence), pull into the cemetery drive and you can reach into the scrub to retrieve.
