Geocache Description:

***This cache is a 3-stage teamwork cache. It is not located at the posted coordinates.***

Congratulations to GArunner for being the first to visit all stages of this multi...thanks to help from Dix1 out in Utah.

This cache, "the Georgia cache," is a partner cache with GC7VJEW: Utah and Georgia Teamwork in Davis County, Utah (north of Salt Lake City), which was placed by my partner Team Christiansen.

To find the Georgia cache, you will need to find a partner who will be looking for the Utah cache. The teamwork comes into play as you help your partner find the Utah cache and your partner helps you find the Georgia cache, without either one of you having to travel to the other state.

No throw downs, please.

Find a partner: You may obtain a partner by posting a Write note log on the Utah cache page requesting a Utah partner, from which someone will respond to you using the Message Center. Or you may respond, via the Message Center, to a Utah geocacher who has posted a Write note log on the Georgia cache page requesting a Georgia partner.

Exchange information with your partner: Once you have a partner, you and your partner will find and exchange information with each other that will lead you to the Georgia cache and your partner to the Utah cache.

Find the cache and sign the log: Once you find the cache, you should not sign the name of your partner for them in the Georgia cache, nor should your partner sign your name for you in the Utah cache logbook. You may not post a Found it log on the Utah cache page unless you physically visit the Utah cache and sign its logbook, nor may your partner post a Found it log on the Georgia cache page unless they physically visit the Georgia cache and sign its logbook.  The good news is once you find one, you will have final coordinates for the other.  I hope to hear from anyone who gets both the Utah cache AND the Georgia cache!

Stage 1:  At the posted coordinates, you will see a mile marker (Mile 0.91). Proceed north/northwest along the trail, taking note of the mile markers you pass along the way - and please don't ask why they have so many of these markers so close together...I don't have a good answer for you. You will use information from these marker posts to find Stage 2.

  • Mile 0.91 (at the posted coordinates):
    • A = number of syllables in the first word on the small rectangular yellow sign
    • F = number of syllables in the second word on the small rectangular yellow sign
  • Mile 0.94:
    • B = third digit in the elevation number
    • G = second digit in the elevation number
  • Mile 1:
    • C = third digit in the elevation number
    • H = in the elevation number, subtract the third digit from the second digit
  • Mile 1.03:
    • D = on the white sign with seven lines of black text, which line is "WATER" on?
    • J = on the white sign with seven lines of black text, the number of letters total on line five
  • Mile 1.08:
    • E = third digit in the elevation number
  • Mile 1.15:
    • K = number of syllables total on rectangular yellow sign
Check your solution

Stage 2: Coordinates for the second stage are:

N 33° AB.CDE' W 084° FG.HJK'

At Stage 2, you will find a tag with information that your partner will need to find the final stage of the Utah cache. Similarly, your partner will find, at Stage 2 of the Utah cache, information that you will need to find the final stage of the Georgia cache. Exchange this information with your partner.

Stage 3: Using the information found by your partner, go find the final stage of the Georgia cache.

Be sure to credit your partner in your 'Found it' log and let us know if you have found BOTH the Georgia and Utah caches!
