The Oxtongue Lake to Ragged Falls canoe route is ~8 km return. It's best to allow for 4-5 hours depending on how long you spend exploring Ragged Falls. Canoes can be launched from either Algonquin Outfitters (near First Time, GC1R1C8) or a gravel/concrete launch at Harris Lake Road (GC3NPWH). Both are equidistant from Ragged Falls, but Harris Lake Road is much quieter in the summer months. This is a very popular canoe route and well worth the trip.
During our exploration from Oxtongue Lake to Ragged Falls we found a channel into this marshy area. This is definitely moose feeding and duck breeding habitat. We looked for ducks and even gave a few calls but heard and saw nothing. This area will definitely be teaming with waterfowl life come dusk. Hopefully, you'll see some wildlife on your trip here.
The cache was placed with difficulty from a canoe. Do not leave your vessel to retrieve this one as there's no telling how far you'll sink.
