Geocache Description:

Ken Berry (b. 1933) is an American actor, dancer, and singer. Born Kenneth Ronald Berry in Moline, he realized he wanted to be a performer when he was 12 and saw a children's dance performance at school. His parents were very supportive and enrolled him in dance lessons at Maureen Bennett's School of Dance. After beginning tap lessons, he won a local radio talent competition; he toured for 15 months with the group before returning to Moline to graduate high school. Upon graduation, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue his career. After breaking into acting, he became famous for rolls on "The Andy Griffith Show," "F Troop," "The Carol Burnett Show," and "Mama's Family."

Starting coordinates bring you to the old Moline High School. Parking is very limited here so having an extra set of eyes (and perhaps a camera) grab details while driving by will be helpful. Using what you see here, answer the following questions in order to choose the final coordinates:

The old Moline High School is now an apartment building. What is its street address?
  • If it is 1001, go to N 41° 30.334
  • If it is 1003, go to N 41° 30.278
  • If it is 1005, go to N 41° 30.458
  • If it is 1007, go to N 41° 30.322

Across the street from the high school is a plaque on a brick wall. What name is above the words "Board of Education?"
  • If it says Moline-Coal Valley, go to W 90° 30.940
  • If it says Rock Island County, go to W 90° 30.872
  • If it says Moline, go to W 90° 31.173
  • If it says Allendale, go to W 90° 31.188

**Cache at your own risk**

Geocaching, hiking, backpacking and other outdoor activities involve risk to both persons and property. There are many variables including, but not limited to, weather, fitness level, terrain features and outdoor experience, that must be considered prior to seeking a Cache. Be prepared for your journey and be sure to check the current weather and conditions before heading outdoors. Always exercise common sense and caution.
**Remember to be good ambassadors to nature. We as geocachers have a responsibility to leave it as we found it, so others may enjoy nature's glory. Always replace the cache the way you found it, so others may enjoy the find.
