Geocache Description:

In my naturalist circles the concept of native and non-native species is a rather hot topic, with a push to get back to more native species whenever possible. This is something I rarely thought of in the past.  I am placing (slowly) a series of simple caches with a little info related to each cache's hiding place.  The info below will be a huge spoiler, of course, so read on after finding the cache if you wish.

Lagerstroemia, or Crepe Myrtle, is non-native! Quite surprising to me since it seems to be everywhere.  It originated in the Indian subcontinent, southeast Asia, Northern Australia and parts of Oceania. The flowering dogwood would be a good native alternative!
