Geocache Description:

A columbarium is a place for the respectful and usually public storage of cinerary urns. The term comes from the Latin "columba" and originally referred to compartmentalized housing for doves and pigeons called a dovecote.

And you can find one here at the New Jindabyne Cemetary. The site of the old Jindabyne cemetery was flooded by the Snowy Mountains Hydro Electric Scheme when constructing Jindabyne Dam. The remains of persons buried in the Old Jindabyne cemetery were transferred to the new cemetery after the new burial ground was surveyed in 1962. The cemetery is sectioned into; Catholic, Anglican, Methodist, Presbyterian and Lutheran.

GZ is a respectable distance up the Hill. Please refrain from seeking the cache if a burial or internment is taking place.
