Geocache Description:

Another opportunity to make a contribution to this lovely and unusual park, earn your official Groundspeak CITO week  souvenir and give something back to the environment.

10am - 12 noon

CITO ("Cache In, Trash Out") events are a chance for Geocachers to make a positive contribution to the effort of keeping our world beautiful, safe and as they should be. We often make use of this rich landscape as we hide and seek our caches but this gives us a chance to do more.

While many events are purely litter picking, today there are a number of tasks that need doing, so this is a different sort of CITO. When we've done a couple of hours of work we can picnic in the park, weather permitting! Anyone who wants to stay longer is more than welcome to do so!

Optional Activities

  • Bramble clearance (please bring gloves and secateurs
  • Path repairs- extra gravel needs adding to the paths- bring a shovel or spade(See photos)
  • Litter picking- bring gloves and a litter picker, if you have one

Please could everyone please come equipped with the following:

  • Suitable footwear and clothing (the ground here is uneven)
  • Gloves
  • A drink or snack and your lunch!

I will provide:

  • Bin liners
  • Antibacterial hand gel

Liquorice park is a community open space run by volunteers and includes a community garden, sculpture, a variety of habitats, a performance area and has stunning views of the West end of the city and beyond. This event is held with the permission and encouragement of the Trustees and volunteers. For more information follow this link.

Children are welcome to take part but should be supervised by a responsible adult AT ALL TIMES. Dogs are welcome too but should be kept on a lead. (Dogs can also take part by encouraging their owners to take away any poop they leave!) Everyone takes part at their own risk, although accidents and incidents are unlikely if we're careful and sensible.

Please note: there is limited parking on Carline Road near the coordinates. Please car-share where possible.

As well as Groundspeak's CITO week, this is also the GAGB's designated CITO weekend and so there will also be a souvenir badge for you to add manually to your profile. This will be made available from 17th September. If you need help doing this just let me know!

If you want to know more about the GAGB just follow this link: http://www.gagb.org.uk/index.php

The official Groundspeak souvenir will be added to your profile automatically once you log that you have attended this event.
