Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the posted coordinates but is at the Final Location waypoint listed below.

This is a challenge cache.  In order to log this find, you must have found 5 of the 9 oldest caches in Illinois.  This can be done at any time before logging this hide.

At the time of challenge publication, the oldest 9 caches are/were:

Beverly, placed 5/13/00 by Robert Reindl

Burlington Creek, placed 1/26/01 by GeoDAM

Cheif Illini Cache, placed 2/25/01 adopted by Team MZFD

Kickapoo Park Cache, placed 3/3/01 adopted by Jkferren

I&M Canal Cache, placed 3/7/01 adopted by JustUsTwo

Kennekuk Park Cache, placed 3/10/01 adopted by Jkferren

Trailside, placed 3/10/01 by Ken, Kim, Fiona, Liam, and adopted by The League of Extraordinary Geocachers

Hawkeye's Perch, placed 3/10/01 adopted by Team MZFD

"Slices of Quince", placed 4/7/01 by Mohmers

The checker is all that is required for verification - making a bookmark or a list in your online log is completely optional.

To quickly determine if you qualify, use the following challenge checker:

PGC Checker

Note that the checker is the final arbiter of qualification. If one of the caches listed above becomes disabled or archived, another cache will automatically take its place. Older archived or disabled caches that have been found will also be detected and count toward the five.

Some fun facts:

1.  Beverly isn't just the oldest in the Illinois, it's the third oldest active cache in the world.

2. You can snag four of these nine without leaving the Chicago area.

3.  I just qualify for this challenge, with 5 of the 9 found thus far.
