Geocache Description:


Join staff at Ledges State Park to celebrate National Public Lands Day and Fall Cache In Trash Out (CITO) Week 2018 by volunteering for a fun afternoon of park projects, clean-up, and geocaching!

Meet at the posted coordinates (Oak Woods Shelter) in Ledges State Park at or before 1:00pm. From 1:00pm-3:00pm volunteers will work on projects such as prairie seed harvest, invasive species removal, and litter clean-up. From 3:00-3:30pm the event will be capped with an opportunity to be FTF on several new caches in Ledges, celebrating the park's history! Coordinates will be handed out to volunteers during the event wrap-up and the new caches will go live at 5:00pm on Geocaching.com!

All ages are welcome, however the Iowa DNR does require each volunteer to sign a liability waiver before participating in the event. Those waivers will be available at the event or you can request one in advance by emailing Ledges@dnr.iowa.gov. Please dress appropriately for the forecasted weather conditions. In the instance of severe weather, please call the Ledges park office at (515) 432-1852 for cancellation information.

Please post the number of people attending in your “will attend” log so there’s enough supplies gathered for everyone. Be sure to grab one or more of the many caches in Ledges before heading home as well!
