This location is quite beautiful as it sits right below the eastern edge of the great San Antonio Mountain. This mountain is actually considered one of the largest free standing round mountains in the world. This location is also the highpoint of the climb out of Antonito, Colorado on the famous Chili Line railroad route between Antonito, Colorado and Santa Fe, New Mexico and the railroad location here is called Volcano. If you look towards San Antonio mountain you can actually see the old railroad roadbed and a triangle of sorts forming the turning wye for the locomotives located here. Such a beautiul and historic location.
