The Williamson Valley Road Series is a Friends of Morgan Ranch Nature Park history project. Even numbered caches are on the E side of the Rd; odd on the W for 44 mi. WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU WORK 1 SIDE OF THE ROAD AT A TIME. Please pick up trash so the neighborhood trash-pickers are not drawn to the location.
COOPER-MORGAN RANCH
In 1910, J.T. Cooper established the Cooper Ranch, which stretched from Williamson Valley to the Verde River. In the 1940s, Cooper’s daughter Learah (1907–1991) and her husband, Jack Morgan, bought the majority of the Cooper holdings and established the Cooper-Morgan Ranch. Their nieces Louise Clark and Margaret McCormack remembered the Morgans’ headquarters located along Williamson Valley Road. In the 1990s, the land was sold to developers. It is now a private home.
